JARS OF CLAY
We believe who we are as human beings is determined by how we treat each other
Jars of Clay is soooooo very different from other organizations. Our shelter is more of a home. Girls ages 14-21
that find themselves homeless are welcome to find refuge with us free. Yep, free. And just to let you know...
we will treat you like family. Yep, a family with rules for a successful future. We put up with NO MESS and
expect success! If you are in need of housing and fit our criteria, then you are welcome to call 404-228-9753
and ask for immediate placement.
Now, if you are grown and sassy and think you can manage your own place...register for our Home In 30 Program.
If you are new at the apartment experience or 19 or younger we will NOT place you in your own apartment
unless you have a high school diploma or a GED, a viable job, a budgeting class, a parenting class or two, or
three and pass an interview that would suggest you are mature enought to handle the responsibility of being
a good tennant and productive community member.
However, if you are over 21 years of age we will refer you to another local shelter and still help you with
placement of your own home through our Home in 30 Program.
IMAGINE ME ACADEMY (shelter program for girls and babies)
MISSION
To provide housing and guidance in a surrogate family setting to exploited homeless girls ages 14-21 and their babies. To re-build Christian family values by empowering girls spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
VISION
To see young girls and their babies healed, restored and surrounded with loving surrogate families to lead them into successful life paths.
GOALS:
-
To rescue and manage 52 girls and their babies
-
To introduce girls to the principles of family values as outlined in the Holy Bible
-
To end welfare dependency and promote self-sufficiency
-
To increase our girl’s confidence to want to live, learn and thrive
-
To instill ethics so our girls become both corporately successful and socially responsible by giving back
PROGRAM
The program provides housing and life skills to young adults until they reach the level of self-sufficiency. This Christian program houses girls from one to four years (depending on program entry age).
EDUCATION
Imagine Me Academy mandates all levels of post-secondary education so girls are offered equal footing like others in normal family
settings. Girls that enter the program and have not obtained a high school diploma will be placed in a "self paced" GED program. Upon completion, the girls will be offered:
-
An opportunity to attend college
-
An opportunity to join the military
-
An opportunity to find a job and permenent housing
Our Wish
To rally corporations around our great cause to promote awareness, end child sexual exploitation and end suffering of those
that have already experienced the travesty of sexual exploitation and or homelessness. To offer girls a two year residential housing program to help them heal, recover and become productive members of society.
